On June 7, 2020, Atheists In Kenya (AIK) released a statement condemning the murder of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis, USA.

The harrowing incident, captured in a viral video, sparked global outrage and condemnation from people across the globe.

AIK's statement read, 'We are broken, we are sad. We are upset. We are hurt. We are frustrated. Most importantly, we are human.'

The organization also expressed its frustration with the ongoing discussions about the value of black life and those of other minority groups, stating, 'We are tired of peoples' lives evaluated and determined by the colour of their skin.'

As the world continues to grapple with the aftermath of George Floyd's murder, AIK's statement serves as a powerful reminder of the need for unity and solidarity among people of all races.
