On June 7, 2020, a heated exchange erupted between Ugandan socialite turned entrepreneur Zari Hassan and Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz's ex-partner Tanasha Donna over child support.
Tanasha declared that she does not require any form of child support from Diamond, the father to her son Naseeb Junior, sparking a response from Zari who also has two children with Diamond.
Zari came out to defend herself saying that it is not always about money as it is not the only form of support a father can offer to his children.
“It is a father's responsibility to be in their children's life whether it's a financial obligation or just emotional. He needs to communicate so they can know him. Note the difference. I've never asked my baby father any financial support. I wanted my children to know him. To be in their lives, it’s their birthright. Not everything is always about money,” Zari responded.
Tanasha revealed that she is raising Junior by herself, stating, “I have been doing it all on my own, to be honest, I will be 100% honest with you. I’m very real and am not gonna say something that is not the case, given all the respect I have for him. He is not supporting; am doing it on my own and I don’t need his support, to be honest,” she said.
