Kenyan actor Pete Openda, a beloved figure in the entertainment industry, has left behind a legacy of laughter and joy. He passed away on June 6, 2020, just days after celebrating his 40th birthday on June 2, 2020.
On his birthday, Pete took to social media to express his gratitude to his loved ones, saying, 'Many thanks for all the birthday wishes, I am truly honoured to have you all as friends and family. God Bless.'
As news of his passing spread, tributes poured in from friends, family, and fans. Pilly Prissy, a family friend, shared her condolences, saying, 'I have no words and of course in shock. This is because two days ago you responded to me when I wished you happy birthday I didn’t know you were saying Good bye.'
Another friend, Musyoki Muli, remembered Pete as a great friend, saying, 'I never saw your going coming. I never ever thought of your going. I knew you’d emcee us in September during NIBF.'
Robert Burale also paid tribute to Pete, saying, 'This is a heavy week….Oh Lord..Rest In Peace My friend…Pete went to be with the Lord this morning…'
