On June 6, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta announced an extension of the nationwide dusk to dawn curfew by an additional 30 days, in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The President made the announcement in a televised address, citing the need to reduce the number of people moving around during the night.

According to the new regulations, the curfew will run from 10pm to 4am, a reduction from the previous 7pm to 6am.
