Kenya's top football league has been suspended since March 13, when the country recorded its first confirmed case of coronavirus.
As the league body, the Kenyan Premier League, prepares to meet this week, Gor Mahia coach Steven Polack has called for leadership in deciding the fate of the season.
Polack, a Briton, believes that the remaining matches cannot be completed in late July, given the new season is set to start by late August.
"I have washed my hands on the matter of the current season because it will be impossible to complete the remaining matches," he said.
Polack urged the KPL to either cancel the season and hand over the title to Gor Mahia or nullify it, saying that either decision would evoke positive and negative reactions from different KPL clubs.
He emphasized that the league body should not fear any backlash and should come out to give direction, citing the government's extension of the dusk to dawn curfew for another 30 days and cessation of movement in and out of Nairobi.
Polack's comments come as the league body hinted that matches could resume if the government relaxed some restrictions on movement, but Nairobi and Mombasa counties remain under lockdown.
