On June 6, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed the nation from State House in Nairobi, announcing a 30-day extension of the Covid-19 curfew.

According to the President, relaxing the measures by 20 per cent would lead to 200,000 new infections and 30,000 deaths by December, while a 40 per cent relaxation would result in 300,000 infections and 40,000 deaths in November.

However, if the measures were relaxed by 60 per cent, the virus infection would peak in October with 450,000 cases, and the death toll would reach 450,000.
