On June 6, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta's address to the nation was initially set to start at 11:15am, according to a morning message from State House.
However, later in the day, State House announced that the speech would now take place at 2pm, citing 'unavoidable circumstances.'
President Kenyatta is expected to address the nation on the way forward after the expiry of measures put in place to combat the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
The measures include a cessation of movement into and out of Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, and Mandera counties, as well as a nationwide dusk-to-dawn curfew starting at 7pm and ending at 5am.
Kenya's citizens are anticipating a relaxation of some of these measures during the address.
