Betty Kyalo Leaves K24: Six-Figure Salary Not Enough ¶
On June 5, 2020, just a week after announcing her departure from K24, Betty Kyalo opened up about her abrupt exit from Mediamax in an interview on Jalang'o's YouTube Channel.
Betty Kyalo, who joined K24 from KTN in December 2018, was one of the highest-paid media personalities in the industry. However, she felt unappreciated and unsupported by her employer, despite her hard work and dedication.
According to Kyalo, her six-figure salary was not enough to make her feel loved and appreciated at Mediamax headquarters. She emphasized that it's not just about money, but also about feeling valued and supported in one's career.
"It is not always about money. For me, it is not always about money, there is so much to look out for. You want to be appreciated, you want to be supported, you want to be given clarity, you want to know that no matter what this organization loves me, they will take care of my brand, they will push me, they will challenge me, and they will want me to be better," said Kyalo.
Kyalo also revealed that she had built her brand and career with passion, hard work, commitment, and love. When she felt unappreciated, she quit, citing the sweat, blood, tears, and hard work she had invested in her career.
Mediamax has been accused of handling the future of its employees casually and not being clear on whether the company will fight for the futures of its employees. K24 is finalizing plans to wrap up the bulk of its programming in favor of adopting KTN's feed.
During the interview, Kyalo promised her fans that she will be back on TV in the near future, but her immediate focus is on her YouTube Channel, Betty Kyalo Lately.
