On June 6, 2020, a group of prominent sports personalities in Kenya and abroad came together to raise funds for the medical treatment of George 'Jojo' Ojwang, a former Harambee Stars winger who has been struggling with heart problems for two years.

Despite the government's efforts to support sports persons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Ojwang's medical bill remained unpaid. However, thanks to the efforts of his fellow footballers, he has received the necessary funds to cover his medical expenses.

George Ojwang played for Scarlet FC in the 1980s alongside other notable players, including Ambrose 'Golden Boy' Ayoyi and the late Jack Sihul. He has been in need of Sh30,000 per month for medication, which he could not afford due to financial constraints.

His friends and colleagues in the football community, including Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi, club coaches Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno and Robert Matano, and former Ulinzi Stars chairman Brigadier Juma Mwinyikai, among others, came together to raise Sh360,000 for his medication.

As of now, Ojwang's medical bill has been cleared, and he is receiving the necessary treatment for his heart problems.
