As we navigate the unprecedented challenges posed by the novel coronavirus, it's essential to acknowledge the profound impact it has had on our mental health.

Before the pandemic, life was already difficult for many, with people struggling to pay school fees and mothers worried about the next meal. The widespread lockdowns, curfews, and cessation of movements have only exacerbated these problems, making them worse for many families.

Single-income families, in particular, have been hit hard, with women often being the sole breadwinners. They face the daunting task of providing for their families on reduced incomes, while also dealing with the emotional toll of being the primary caregivers.

Furthermore, the pandemic has also highlighted the issue of domestic violence, with many women trapped in violent situations, unable to escape due to the lockdowns. Children are also suffering, with some being forced to stay at home with abusive parents, rather than being in a safe and nurturing environment.

On the other hand, there are also those who are spending most of their time alone, away from family and friends. The mental impact of this loneliness cannot be overstated, and it's essential that we provide support to these individuals as well.

As we work towards increasing mass testing and reducing new infections, let's not forget the importance of supporting our mental health. We must think about the single mothers who have to navigate this pandemic by themselves, and provide them with the support they need to cope.

It's time for us to prioritize our mental health and well-being, and to recognize the importance of seeking help when we need it. By doing so, we can build resilience and emerge from this pandemic stronger and more united than ever.
