On June 5, 2020, former Vice-President Musalia Mudavadi made a significant contribution to AFC Leopards' efforts to secure a permanent home in Kasarani.
Through his Musalia Mudavadi Centre, Mudavadi donated Sh633,000 to the club, which will be used to pay requisite fees for processing the land's papers.
The 20-acre piece of land was originally allocated to AFC Leopards by the late President Daniel arap Moi in 1992, but the club had been struggling to reclaim it due to encroachment by land grabbers.
Interestingly, Gor Mahia FC, another prominent football club in Kenya, was also given a similar size of land by the late president, but opted for alternative land in Embakasi after the management of Kasarani stadium took the land they were allocated.
Speaking at the event, Mudavadi expressed his desire to see AFC Leopards have a permanent home, saying, 'We want AFC Leopards to have a permanent home. Let the club leaders do their strategic plan and make this sporting complex become a center of pride for the sporting fraternity in this country.'
AFC Leopards chairman, Dan Shikanda, thanked Mudavadi for the support and assured the club members that the land title deed will be ready in a week's time.
