On June 5, 2020, President Donald Trump expressed optimism about the US's progress in combating the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at a news briefing, Trump attributed the country's resilience to its strong economy, which he claimed had enabled the US to navigate the pandemic effectively.
"We had the greatest economy in the history of the world. And that strength let us get through this horrible pandemic, largely through, I think we're doing really well," Trump said.
Trump also defended his administration's handling of the pandemic, stating, "We've made every decision correctly," despite the virus claiming over 108,000 lives in the US.
