Radio personality Maina Kageni has sparked controversy by announcing plans to travel abroad to celebrate his 43rd birthday, despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking during a recent radio conversation, Maina revealed that he intends to fly out of the country on June 29th to mark the occasion.

His comments come as the government continues to urge Kenyans to remain vigilant and adhere to health guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus.

On a different note, Maina's co-host Mwalimu King'ang'i also shared his plans, stating that he would travel to Mombasa if the government lifts the lockdown tomorrow.

It is worth noting that Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has previously warned Kenyans against taking the pandemic lightly, saying 'If you behave normally this disease will treat you abnormally.'
