Divorce is a harsh reality for many women, but some have turned their lemons into lemonade, emerging stronger and wiser from their experiences.

Published on June 5, 2020, we take a look at some of these resilient Kenyan female celebrities who have thrived after divorce.

One such celebrity is Carol Radull, a prominent media personality who was married to Mike Njiru for seven years. Reflecting on her past marriage, Carol shared valuable insights, saying, 'I believe he was a good man, and I was in love with him when we were married. However, things changed. People grow apart for whichever reason. Maybe he was just not meant to be the one. Marriage taught me a lot, and one of the key lessons is: if the relationship is not working, do not force it.'

Another celebrity who has successfully navigated divorce is Mwanahamisi Hamadi, who was married to Radio Salaam reporter Salim Cheka in a secretive ceremony. Although the exact date of their marriage is unclear, they did have a daughter together and continue to co-parent.

Radio presenter Kamene Goro also made headlines after her Tanzanian ex-husband dumped her via a text message while she was waiting for her visa at the French Embassy. Despite the heartbreak, Kamene has since moved on.

Actress Idah Alisha, known for her role in the local show 'Mother-in-Law,' was married in 2014 but divorced her husband Upton in 2016 due to allegations of abuse. She has since spoken out about her experience, using it as an opportunity for growth.

Lastly, fitness enthusiast Jane Mukami, known for her '21 Days of Change' group, was also in a past marriage that ended in divorce due to her husband's abusive behavior. Despite the challenges, Jane has continued to thrive and inspire others through her fitness journey.
