Barcelona's preparations for their return to action have been dealt a minor setback with Lionel Messi sustaining a thigh injury.
According to the club, Messi has a minor right quadriceps injury and has been training in isolation, doing specific exercises to avoid unnecessary risks with just eight days remaining before their first game back against Mallorca on June 13.
Despite the injury, Barcelona remain confident that Messi will be fit for the match, with the club stating that he should be able to rejoin his teammates in a few days' time.
June 13 marks the team's first game back after a three-month break due to the coronavirus pandemic, and Barcelona will have had only 10 days to train together when competitive matches resume on June 11.
Barcelona's coach, Quique Setien, is working to get his players ready for the return to football, but with games being played behind closed doors.
