COVID-19 Update: 134 New Cases in Kenya

On June 5, 2020, Kenya's Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr Mercy Mwangangi announced that 134 more patients had tested positive for COVID-19 after analyzing 3,177 samples in the last 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 131 were Kenyans and 3 were foreigners, with 98 males and 24 females affected.

The cases were reported in various counties, including Mombasa (67), Nairobi (31), Busia (15), Machakos (5), Taita Taveta (4), Kilifi (2), Kiambu (2), Nakuru (2), Garissa (1), Kericho (1), and Kajiado (1).

Dr Mwangangi also reported that 51 patients had been discharged from various health centers, bringing the total number of recoveries to 643.

Unfortunately, one patient had died in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of fatalities to 79.
