This archive report was first published on 5 June 2020.

On June 5, 2020, Nairobi's streets were a far cry from their usual chaotic state. The city's residents were able to enjoy a rare moment of peace and quiet, thanks to the implementation of a curfew.

The streets, once filled with the sounds of honking horns and chatter, were now eerily quiet. The only sounds to be heard were the occasional chirping of birds and the distant hum of a generator.

The city's residents were seen taking advantage of the peaceful environment, with some taking a stroll or enjoying a picnic in the park.
