On a surprise announcement during the holy month of Ramadhan, Tanasha Donna revealed that she had converted to Islam, adopting the name Aisha. This decision came after she spent time giving back to society by donating food to a children's home in Eastleigh.
When asked by Jalang'o in an interview why she made the decision to convert to Islam despite being born and raised in a Christian home, Tanasha responded,
“All these roles played a role but the majority reason it was a personal decision. I am a very spiritual person and I like to explore my spirituality. I do not like being closed in a box I like thinking outside the box.”
She further emphasized that she believes there is little difference between Islam and Christianity, with Islam being a more detailed version of the same story.
Interestingly, Diamond Platnumz, who had expressed his desire to marry a Muslim, had a significant influence on Tanasha's decision. In an interview, Diamond revealed that Rekado Momo played a crucial role in convincing Tanasha to convert, stating,
“It is true. When we were in Kigoma she changed her religion and became Muslim. And for that, I thank God and Rekado Momo who really stood in the gap of this conversation.”
Although the two did not make it to the marriage part, it seems they have moved on.
