The Kenya Premier League Governing Council is expected to make a decision on the fate of the 2019-2020 season return next week, following the government's announcement of new measures to curb the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
As of now, the Kenya Premier League has clarified that no decision has been made regarding the fate of the 2019-2020 season, despite Cabinet Secretary for Sports Ambassador Amina Mohamed confirming that the government is preparing for the resumption of sporting activities in the country once the Covid-19 situation has been managed.
The council will convene to discuss the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on football activities and the government's blueprint for reopening the economy, which is expected to have a significant effect on football activities.
It is worth noting that only the KPL Governing Council has the power to make a decision on the fate of the 2019-2020 season.
