Investing in the food industry has become increasingly popular, with many individuals focusing on their traditional cuisines to achieve financial success. One such group is coastal women, who are thriving in this sector.
Among them is Mwanaisha Chidzuga, a former K24 TV host who has invested in a chain of three restaurants, with a fourth one in the process of opening. Her restaurants, Aryanna's Swahili Cuisine, specialize in coastal dishes.
Another notable example is Mwanahamisi Hamadi, who runs a YouTube channel called Mapishi and Cooking Recipes, where she shares her knowledge of coastal cooking.
Even Nyota Ndogo, who initially expressed fear about opening her hotel, has found success after taking the leap. As she shared, 'I was very afraid when opening this hotel, I am very sure you saw that yourselves. But from the first day we opened God gave us customers and all the food we had cooked got finished. I was so excited especially after seeing that the adverts we had created had traveled so far. Nowadays, we even supply food on order.'
Notably, Miss Mandi, a food stylist, has also found a niche in the food industry, despite not being from the coastal region. She is passionate about food and has built a reputation around her culinary expertise.
