Facebook has rolled out its photo transfer tool to all users worldwide, making it easier for people to consolidate their memories in one place.

For those who have been using Facebook to share memories with friends and family, this feature is a welcome addition. With Google Photos offering unlimited storage for photos and videos, it's a no-brainer for many Android users to store their memories there.

However, many people have continued using Facebook to share memories, resulting in memories and special moments being scattered across different platforms.

Facebook's photo transfer tool allows users to easily move their photos to Google Photos, making it easier to consolidate their memories in one place.

To use the tool, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your Facebook account
  • Navigate to the top right corner and select Settings & Privacy
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Your Facebook Information
  • Click on Transfer a copy of your photos or videos
  • Choose Google Photos as the destination
  • Choose what you want to transfer (photos or videos)
  • Authenticate the process on Google's end
  • Confirm the transfer

Once you've completed the transfer, you can exit Facebook and let the process finish behind the scenes.

It's worth noting that Google Photos limits photos to 16 megapixels and videos to 1080i in order to offer unlimited storage. Anything above that will be compressed to that level.
