A Tribute to the Late Elder Dr. Thomas Kambuni Nyambane

Published on June 5, 2020

Senior Pastor United Central and The Mountain Experience SDA Churches is mourning the loss of a dear friend, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, professor, and beloved elder, Dr. Thomas Kambuni Nyambane.

Dr. Nyambane was a man of strong character, personality, and presence. His love for education was legendary, and he was proud of his wife, Victoria, achieving a Doctorate in Mathematics. He was also a generous person, as evident from the time he handed a fruit bag to the Senior Pastor during a hospital visit.

The Senior Pastor shared a personal memory of Dr. Nyambane, who was one of the few people who called to congratulate him on the publication of his book, 'Soar'. Dr. Nyambane had even asked the Senior Pastor to take him a copy of the book to read before the launch date, which unfortunately did not happen.

Dr. Nyambane was also a devoted family man. His love for his family was evident in the way he treated his son-in-law, Frank Orito, as a brother. The Senior Pastor envied their relationship and wished he could have learned from them.

Dr. Nyambane's love for suits was also a notable trait. He took his time to get the best from the best of stores, and his suits were always sharp and nice.

The Senior Pastor remembered Dr. Nyambane's vision for The Mountain Experience SDA Church (TMESDA) and his desire to acquire a worship facility. He also recalled Dr. Nyambane's love for the Heavenly Sisters singing group and his encouragement to flourish.

As the Senior Pastor reflected on Dr. Nyambane's life, he remembered the words of David to his son Solomon in 1 Kings 2: 1-3, 'Take courage and prove yourself a man. And keep the charge of the LORD your God to walk in His ways and to keep His statutes, commandments, ordinances, and decrees...'

The Senior Pastor concluded by urging the family and the church to take courage and remember the lessons they learned from Dr. Nyambane. He also expressed his condolences to the family and promised to support them in their time of grief.
