On June 4, 2020, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi communicated changes in the Jubilee Party's leadership, effective from June 2, 2020.

Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe has taken over as the Majority Whip, replacing Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali, while Igembe North MP Maoka Maore will serve as his Deputy, replacing Nominated MP Cecily Mbarire.

According to Muturi, the changes were made after a Parliamentary group meeting held on June 2, 2020, where the Jubilee Parliamentary Group designated the new leaders.

Wangwe and Maore were congratulated by Muturi, who also thanked the outgoing office-bearers for their service.

Mbarire expressed gratitude to the President and the Jubilee party for giving her the chance to serve as the Majority party's Deputy Whip, while Wangwe thanked the President for the opportunity, emphasizing the need to unite and support the Jubilee Party's Big4 agenda and push for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

However, the replacement of Deputy Minority leader Chris Wamalwa elicited varying reactions, with Wamalwa himself being magnanimous in defeat, saying, 'This matter happened Mr. speaker and I accepted, there is no one who can hold a position for life.'
