Sebastien Migne, the French coach who previously led Harambee Stars, has been let go by Equatorial Guinea's national football team. The decision comes after a string of poor performances in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
Migne's tenure was marked by losses to Tanzania and Tunisia, which ultimately led to his dismissal. His contract, set to expire at the end of June, will not be renewed by the Equatorial Guinea Football Federation.
Interestingly, Migne is still receiving compensation from Football Kenya Federation (FKF) following his dismissal from Harambee Stars. However, he had threatened to sue FKF earlier this year due to a delay in payment.
Currently, Migne is in France due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has prevented him from traveling. His immediate family, including his wife and children, still reside in Kenya.
Equatorial Guinea Football Federation has decided that they will NOT be renewing the contract of Sébastien Migne which is due to expire this month. Migne was appointed on 8th Nov. 2019 having failed to win his first two 2021 #AFCON qualifiers against Tanzania & Tunisia. — African Football HQ (@AfricanFtblHQ) June 4, 2020
