As of June 4, 2020, Kenya has recorded a total of 2,340 COVID-19 cases, with 124 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, Mombasa has the highest number of cases with 40, all of which are truck drivers, followed by Busia with 26 cases.

The new cases include 119 Kenyans, 2 Somalis, 2 Tanzanians, and 1 Eritrean national.

The cases are distributed across various counties, with Nairobi reporting 38 cases, Kajiado 6, Kiambu 3, Garissa 2, Taita Taveta 2, and one case each in Muranga and Elgeyo Marakwet.

CS Kagwe stated that 87,698 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, with Elgeyo Marakwet becoming the latest county to report a COVID-19 case, bringing the total number of affected counties to 36.

Of the 40 cases in Mombasa, 14 are from Mvita, 11 from Kisauni, 6 from Changamwe, and 1 case each from Jomvu and Nyali.

In Nairobi, the cases are from Kibra (25), Kamukunji (4), Dagoretti North (5), Westlands (2), Langata, and Embakasi East (1 case each).

CS Kagwe further reported that 39 patients had been discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 592, while four patients have succumbed to the disease, bringing the tally of fatalities to 78.
