On 25 May 2020, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau donated foodstuff, masks, and sanitizers to the vulnerable in his constituency.

During the donation, Makau welcomed the Wiper party's decision to partner with Jubilee, saying it was long overdue. He noted that the party's leader, Raila Odinga, has had a cordial relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta throughout.

Makau supported the purge of errant leaders within Jubilee leadership, saying it was the only way to bring sanity to the party under President Kenyatta. He advised those removed from leadership positions to stop crying foul and focus on mending their relationship with the party.

He also called for the recent purge in the Senate to be extended to the National Assembly, saying it was unfortunate for leaders to disrespect their party leader.

Makau urged his constituents to abide by the government's directives on COVID-19 to avoid contracting the deadly virus.
