Published on May 25, 2020, Mpasho News reported on the rising star Daniel Simiyu, popularly known as Dantenz 254. The form three student has recorded over four songs and is set to collaborate with artistes from Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Jamaica, Rwanda, and Ivory Coast.
Under the Maliza Umaskini record label, Dantenz 254 will release his first album in December 2020. The management of the label stated that the singer sticks to the school calendar and only travels to South Africa to record songs during school holidays.
When asked about future investments, the management said, "For now, we are investing in his education. Maliza Umaskini has given him a scholarship up to university. When he starts earning from his music, we will come up with an investment plan for him in conjunction with his mother."
Dantenz 254 came to the limelight in 2018 after the Maliza Umaskini Foundation came to his rescue. He was living in Kitale with his siblings and struggling single mother, who was the sole breadwinner of the family after losing his father.
Other young and talented Kenyan musicians who are still in school and making waves include Amani G, Wendy Waeni, and Nikita Kering.
