On 25th May 2020, Kenya's Health Director-General Patrick Amoth was elected as the vice-president of the World Health Organisation Executive Board.

The Executive Board, comprising 34 members, plays a crucial role in advising the World Health Assembly and enforcing its policies and decisions.
