On Saturday night, a dispute over a stolen cow escalated into violence in Narok South, leaving two people dead and three others seriously injured.

According to reports, a man from one community had taken a cow from his father's home, claiming it had been stolen. This led to a retaliatory attack by his community on the neighboring community, resulting in the destruction of homes and serious injuries.

As the situation spiralled out of control, GSU officers were deployed to the area to maintain peace and prevent further violence. The officers, accompanied by a security committee from Narok and area leaders, worked to calm down the warring communities.

However, the situation took a tragic turn when a bodaboda rider was attacked and killed by the warring communities. One of the injured individuals is currently being treated at Kenyatta National Hospital, while the other two are receiving treatment at Narok Referral Hospital.

Narok County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti has assured the communities that GSU officers will remain in the area to prevent further attacks and that the communities have agreed to maintain peace. The Commissioner has also directed the GSU officers to disarm the two communities.

Area MP Korei ole Lemein has appealed to the communities to stop fighting over a single cow and has urged politicians to refrain from inciting locals against each other.
