On May 7, 2020, Yusuf Mbuno took up the position of National Government- Constituency Development Fund Board Chief Executive, a role he has been serving in an acting capacity for the last 11 years.
The appointment was gazetted by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani, who stated that Mbuno will serve for a period of three years.
Members of the National Assembly had previously approved the nomination of Mbuno, describing him as efficient, qualified, and a servant leader.
As the substantive accounting officer of the devolved fund, Mbuno will oversee billions of shillings allocated to the 290 constituencies every year.
The Constituency Development Fund has been supporting projects in various sectors, including education, health, agriculture, roads, security, sports, and environment, since the 2003/04 financial year.
