Manhunt Launched for Man Who Stabbed Brother to Death in Drunken Quarrel

On Sunday evening, a tragic incident unfolded in Kairingo village, Igambang'ombe Sub County, Tharaka-Nithi County, where a 34-year-old man was stabbed to death by his 32-year-old brother.

According to preliminary investigations, the two brothers, Onesmus Nyaga and Ephantus Munene, were drunk when they had a short argument, which escalated into a violent confrontation.

As reported by Igambang'ombe Deputy County Commissioner, Mr. Fred Masinjila, the suspect, Onesmus Nyaga, stabbed his brother severally on the chest and stomach, resulting in his immediate death.

Mr. Masinjila confirmed that immediately after committing the crime, Onesmus Nyaga went into hiding, leaving the lifeless body of his brother in a pool of blood.

Police rushed to the scene, picked up the body, and moved it to Chuka County Referral Hospital mortuary for further investigation.

As the police continue to hunt for the suspect, the residents of Kairingo village are left to grapple with the shocking incident, which has been attributed to the increased consumption of illicit brews in the area.
