22 Covid-19 New Cases Reported as One Patient from Mathare Dies

On Sunday, the Ministry of Health released the latest figures on Covid-19 cases in Kenya, revealing 22 new cases.

According to Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman, the new patients were from 1,108 samples tested in the past 24 hours, bringing the national tally to 1,214.

The cumulative tests conducted so far is 59,260.

Of the new cases, 17 were male and 5 were female, with ages ranging from 24 to 73 years.

Tragically, a 48-year-old male patient from Nairobi's Mathare area succumbed to the virus, raising the death toll to 51.

Since the pandemic hit the country in early March, 383 people have recovered, with three more patients discharged from hospital on Sunday.

Nairobi and Mombasa counties continue to lead in the number of new cases, with 10 and 9 respectively.
