On May 24, 2020, the Kenyan government announced 22 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of positive cases to 1214.

According to Health Ministry CAS Dr Rashid Aman, 10 of the new cases were recorded in Nairobi, while 9 were reported in Mombasa. Nakuru, Kwale, and Taita Taveta each recorded one case.

The new cases comprised 17 males and 5 females, aged between 24 and 73 years. The test results were from 1108 samples.

Meanwhile, 3 patients were discharged from hospital, bringing the total number of recoveries to 383. Unfortunately, one patient died, increasing the total number of fatalities to 51.

Dr Aman appealed to Kenyans to continue complying with government directives, saying, "Our fight is not over, we know the inconvenience, but the partial lock down will not go on forever. Many people are complying with the measures. To the few who are not towing, follow suit to protect others."
