On May 24, 2020, detectives from the DCI based at Githurai Kimbo made a significant arrest in Nairobi's Huruma Estate. Two suspects, Ethan Mwangi and Isaiah Otieno, were taken into custody for allegedly conning an individual Sh72,000 by posing as genuine 20 Feet container sellers.
During the arrest, the detectives recovered several pieces of evidence, including ID cards belonging to other people, forged documents in the name of Hakika Transporters, and assorted SIM cards and mobile phones used by the suspects to steal from unsuspecting members of the public.
The two suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged accordingly. The DCI took to Twitter to announce the arrest, stating, “Two suspects who had represented themselves as genuine 20 Feet container sellers and hence defrauded an individual Sh72,000 have been arrested by DCI officers based at Githurai Kimbo.”
