May 24, 2020, will be a day Sam West would rather forget. It was the day his mobile banking application failed him, leaving him in an awkward situation with a date.
According to Sam, he had taken a girl out for dinner, expecting to pay the bill of KES 12,000 using his mobile banking app. However, the app failed to process the transaction, leaving him with no choice but to call his mother for help.
'I had to call my mum and ask her for cash before I could tuchonge viazi,' Sam narrated in an exclusive interview with Mpasho.
His mother, understandably, was curious about the high bill, and Sam had to come up with a convincing lie to explain the situation. 'Considering that we had drinks, I had to find a convincing lie to tell her,' Sam said.
Sam's embarrassing moment was not limited to this incident. He has been dumped before, but he attributes it to his own mistakes. 'I have been dumped before, but ni mimi nlikua nimefanya madhambi though I can’t explain it now,' he said with a hint of sarcasm.
However, Sam's most embarrassing moment on a date was when he accidentally burst a ketchup bottle during lunch, splattering it on his dress and the nearby curtains. Luckily, his date understood and took the situation in stride.
