On Saturday evening, detectives from the Special Service Unit (SSU) working with counterparts in Parklands apprehended a 35-year-old suspect along Park Road in Nairobi.
Acting on a tip-off, the detectives had been tracking the suspect, who was eventually escorted to his store at Civil Servant Estate within Ngara.
At the store, the detectives recovered 2,150 pieces of Spirit bottle tops of assorted foreign and local brands, as well as two rolls of fake KRA stickers.
Among the recovered items were 550 pieces of Napoleon Gold spirit bottle tops, 800 pieces of Konyagi spirit bottle tops, 800 pieces of Kenya cane spirit bottle tops, and two rolls of fake KRA stickers.
Additionally, four rolls of tape with a London Distillers mark and a roll of Mau Mist natural spring bottled water label were recovered.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspect was arrested on May 23, 2020, and the recovered items were seized as evidence.
