On May 23, 2020, a group of Kamba professionals, led by Daniel Yumbya, Chairman of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council, publicly endorsed a planned tripartite alliance between Wiper Party, the ruling Jubilee Party, and Kenya African National Union.

The alliance, set to be signed by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, aims to foster unity and spur development in the region. President Uhuru Kenyatta's government is consolidating its grip by forming an all-inclusive government following an agreement with KANU and the Orange Democratic Movement, led by Raila Odinga.

According to the professionals, the alliance will bring the community closer to the government, aligning with the community's historical ethos of pursuing national unity. They emphasized that no community can achieve sustainable development in isolation and that peaceful engagements with other communities are essential for meaningful peace.

Other notable professionals who signed the statement include Dr Ezekiel Mutua (Kenya Film and Classification Board), Mumo Matemu (former EACC Chairman), Professor Philip Kaloki (Chairman of the Kenya Medical Training College), and others.
