On May 23, 2020, Mauricio Pochettino stated that returning to the Premier League is his priority, eager to manage again after being sacked by Tottenham six months prior.

The Argentine's five-and-a-half-year tenure at Spurs saw him transform the team's fortunes, but he failed to win a trophy and was let go less than a year after leading them to the Champions League final.

With his six-month 'gardening leave' now over, Pochettino is free to join another club, with Newcastle and Manchester United being heavily linked as potential destinations.

“After six months, our tanks are completely full,” Pochettino told various British media outlets.

He expressed his love for England and the Premier League, stating, “I still think the Premier League is the best league in the world. We enjoy it a lot. Of course, it’s one of the options. Of course, it can be my priority but I am not closed to move to a different country.”

Pochettino acknowledged the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus crisis, saying, “Today we are going to live a completely different era in football that we need to discover.”
