On Wednesday, May 20, 2020, three police officers from Oloolunga police station in Narok South Sub-county were sent to effect an arrest within Oloolunga Junction area.
However, the four minors they were to arrest resisted and instead assaulted the officers, detaining them inside their house before descending on them with kitchen knives and other crude weapons.
Constables Timothy Namu, Isaac Mutashe, and Eunice Wambui were injured as they fled the house while calling for reinforcement. Their colleagues responded, and the officers were later rushed to Oloolunga Sub County hospital for treatment.
According to a report filed at Oloolunga police station, the suspects later locked themselves inside the house in defiance to surrender and instead set their bedroom ablaze and attempted to burn themselves. Luckily, the door was forced open, and the accused apprehended and the fire put off by police with the assistance of members of the public.
