Experts Weigh in on the Future of Work ¶
As the world adjusts to the new normal, experts are predicting significant changes in the job market, remote work, and the skills required for different industries.
According to Emmanuel Mutuma, CEO of BrighterMonday, companies have been forced to innovate and work virtually, leading to better ways of interacting with customers and cutting costs. This shift will shape future jobs and how they are performed.
Perminus Wainaina, an HR Consultant, notes that the workplace has been disrupted, and remote working is becoming more prevalent. He also predicts that employers will adopt technology in areas such as training and meetings, and that some businesses will not survive the pandemic.
Denis Nyongesa, Group HR Director for Ramco Group of Companies, believes that the job market will undergo a major shift, with the introduction of an employment insurance fund to cushion employers and assist employees. He also notes that working from home has become a reality, and that some positions can be executed remotely.
Other experts, including Nicholas Kasidhi, Pan-African Headhunter and HR Advisor, Tom Shivo, Group HR Director, HF Group, Flossie Njagi, C-suite Corporate Leader, and Heather O'Shea, Talent Acquisition professional, also weighed in on the future of work, predicting changes in skill sets, remote work, and the need for new infrastructure.
As the world adjusts to the new normal, businesses must adapt to these changes and invest in new skills and infrastructure to remain competitive.
