On May 23, 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta unveiled a comprehensive stimulus package worth Sh53.7 billion to mitigate the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Kenya.

The measures, announced at State House in Nairobi, aim to support businesses and citizens affected by the pandemic, which has led to a global economic downturn.

As part of the package, the government has allocated Sh6.5 billion to the Ministry of Education to hire 10,000 additional teachers and 1,000 ICT interns to enhance the digital learning program.

The President also announced plans to purchase locally manufactured vehicles worth Sh600 million to promote local car assembly firms.
