Former rugby player Allan Makaka's untimely death in a road accident on Friday has sent shockwaves across the country.

According to reports, Makaka's car rammed into a truck, resulting in his tragic demise.

Friends and colleagues of Makaka have taken to social media to pay their tributes, with Jalang'o, Willis Raburu, and Cleophas Malala among those who have mourned the loss of their dear friend.

Malala, who was a close buddy of Makaka, shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, recalling their friendship that spanned from their days at St. Peter's Mumias Boys Primary and later at the United States International University.

Malala also remembered Makaka's love for rugby, which cemented their closeness even as he ventured into professional rugby.

Another friend, @EtalePhilip, confirmed Makaka's passing at the Montezuma Funeral Home, describing it as 'sad.'

The Kenya 7s team also paid their condolences to Makaka's family and friends, describing him as a 'champ.'
