On a typical day, Mercy Wanjiku Njomo oversees the facilities at Quipbank Trust Limited, an equipment bank that offers vehicles, agricultural, and mining and construction equipment rental and sales options. As a Facilities Manager, she has achieved a significant milestone in centralizing security reports at her workplace.

According to Mercy, getting the security report centralized was her biggest moment so far. Initially, it was a challenge to ensure the safety of all Quipbank branches and the assets in the yard. To address this, she created a system where all reporting was conducted and well recorded.

When asked about her success recipe, Mercy attributed it to humility and patience. Her work involves handling people, and she has learned to absorb frustrating situations without hard feelings. She believes that everyone has their own set of life problems, and her career and line of work shouldn't be an additional burden.

One of the biggest money mistakes Mercy made was venturing into business with a personal friend, opening a stall at Sunbeam. Despite their initial enthusiasm, they didn't have enough time to manage the business, resulting in significant losses. Mercy learned that she should only start a business when fully committed to it.

Another significant career loss Mercy experienced was losing a client due to her delay in obtaining necessary documents. This taught her the importance of preparation and readiness in business.

When asked if she would turn back the clock, Mercy expressed gratitude for her strengths and shortcomings, which have contributed to her current position in life. She also shares her saving method, which involves a Sacco with a group of friends, and her preference for employment over business.

As part of her parting shot, Mercy advises putting trust in God and discerning who and what is meant for you. She emphasizes the importance of upholding virtues such as honesty and reliability and being open to learning.
