On Thursday, a tragic road accident occurred at Got Agulu in Bondo sub-county, claiming the lives of three men.

David Ochieng, Wickliffe Otieno, and Calvins Odhiambo were reported to have died near Uhwaya market, about two kilometres from Osieko beach, after their motorbikes collided head-on just past 7pm.

A witness stated that the four were rushing home to comply with the night curfew and had decided to dim their bikes' headlights to avoid being seen by the police.

Speaking to The Standard, Jack Orocha, a relative to the deceased, confirmed that the three died on the spot.

Bondo sub-county police commander Anthony Wafula said the bodies were taken to Bondo hospital mortuary as investigations begin.

“People have been complying with the curfew order and it is unfortunate that this accident happened as the victims were rushing to beat it,” Wafula said.
