On March 27, 1964, a devastating earthquake struck Alaska, causing widespread destruction and loss of life. The 9.2 magnitude quake, known as the Great Alaska Earthquake, was one of the most powerful in U.S. history.
Among those who witnessed the disaster was Genie Chance, a young woman who documented the event through her photographs and writings. Her work provides a unique perspective on the disaster and its aftermath.
