Western Stima coach Salim Babu has expressed his willingness to let teenage sensation Benson Omala pursue his football dreams, even if it means joining a top Kenyan Premier League club.

Omala, a 17-year-old student at Kisumu Day Secondary School, has been instrumental in Stima's campaign this season, scoring eight league goals before the league was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"I wish the best for my players and feel good if the job they do on the pitch is recognised and appreciated," said Babu. "If it turns out that Omala is on his way out, then I can't deny him the chance to make the next step. He is a young talented player who has a bright future," he added.

Although Babu remained coy on revealing where Omala might be headed, Nation Sport understands that the teenager is on Gor Mahia's radar, with the record Kenyan champions wanting him to lead their attack next season.

Omala entered the history books in January when he was named the Kenyan Premier League Player of the month for December, becoming the youngest winner of the award. He also became the first Stima player to ever score a hat-trick in a league match when the power men hammered Zoo Kericho 4-1 on December 11.
