On the eve of Africa Day, a new music video titled 'Labelled Human' is set to premiere, celebrating African creativity and its potential to shape a brighter future for the continent.

Directed by Rango, the video was produced live during the 5th edition of Nairobi Design Week (NDW) festival in March this year. The production team, consisting of Clef & Bandana, Bakhita, Sogallo, and Caleb, with Phinoshey on production, aimed to create a 'one-shot' music video that showcases the beauty of African creativity.

According to Phinoshey, the producer, 'I want people to make this a global anthem...feel the lyrics because the artists were singing from the soul.'

The music video, which premieres on May 25, is a collaboration between the young Kenyan musicians and aims to inspire other communities to collaborate and create impact. The video showcases the basketball court restoration, murals, community exhibition, 'The Urban Residency', and accessibility features created during the festival, which has been published as a case study called 'Paint The Court' on NDW's website.

Since its launch in 2018 at the Refugees' Pavilion at the London Design Biennale, the 'Labelled Human' movement has encouraged over three thousand people from across the world to share their labels on social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.

As the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic, the 'Labelled Human' movement serves as a reminder of the importance of empathy and unity in the face of adversity.
