Kenyan singer and philanthropist Akothee has reached a milestone of 2 million followers on Instagram, but this achievement has also brought out the worst in some of her so-called friends in the entertainment industry.
According to Akothee, these individuals are quick to add her to their contact lists and comment on her social media posts, but they rarely, if ever, share her content or support her music.
She has now had enough of their hypocrisy and has declared that she will no longer waste her time on them.
As she put it, 'If you can't support me in public, using my music to make money in private, now I have 2 million followers, don't even talk to me.'
Akothee's frustration stems from the fact that she has begged some celebrities with large followings to help her promote her work, but they have consistently refused.
She recalled the early days of her career when she had only 3,000 followers and would almost beg for help, but now she is a force to be reckoned with and will no longer be taken advantage of.
As she celebrated her 2 million follower milestone, Akothee announced that she will be focusing on her loyal fans and will no longer waste time on those who do not support her.
She thanked her fans for their loyalty and support, saying, 'My loyal fans, I ESTHER AKOTH KOKEYO, Mother of MANY says THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Let's just do it #Teamakothee, #Madamboss.'

After reaching 2 million followers on Instagram, Akothee stated, 'I begged some celebrities with big followings then, to help me post my work, and they refused. I dint die, I kept pushing. Sorry, but I stopped asking some celebrities with huge followings to help me share my work.'
