Covid-19: Kenya Cases Soar to 1,109

On May 21, 2020, Kenya's Health ministry announced 80 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the national tally to 1,109.

According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, 41 of the new cases were recorded in Nairobi, while 20 were reported in Mombasa.

Additionally, seven cases were recorded in Siaya, western Kenya, and six in coastal Kwale County.

Notably, a six-month-old baby was among the new patients found in the last 24 hours.

Mr. Kagwe also reported that nine more people were discharged after testing negative for Covid-19, raising the country's total number of recoveries to 375.

The Covid-19 death toll remains at 50, the CS said.
