On the eve of the release of their highly anticipated song, 'Insecure', Sauti Sol's Bien Aime has shared his personal struggles with insecurity. In an exclusive interview, he revealed that he has always been haunted by two major insecurities in his life.

According to Bien, his first insecurity stems from his high school days when he was constantly teased for being thin. He recalled how his classmates would call him 'skele' (skeleton) due to his frail physique, and how this nickname stuck with him long after he left school.

'Every time we went to a girls' school, I would wear a sweater I couldn't take off, no matter how hot it was, because I was afraid people could see my frail physique and think I'm too thin,' Bien shared in an emotional revelation.

His second insecurity, Bien revealed, is his fear of not being handsome enough. He confessed that he has always struggled with his self-image, feeling that he's not the most photogenic person and that he's not 'mainstream handsome.'

These insecurities have even followed Bien into his marriage, where he sometimes feels like he's not doing enough for his wife. 'I am sometimes insecure, I am not doing enough,' he confessed. 'Like I bring home bread to my wife, and maybe I am not doing enough for her to be happy in the relationship.'

Despite his insecurities, Bien is determined to use his music as a way to connect with others who may be struggling with similar issues. 'Everyone has at least one insecurity in their lives, and it's okay to have them,' he said. 'Our song, 'Insecure', is a reflection of our own struggles, and we hope that it will resonate with everyone.'

Listen to Sauti Sol's 'Insecure' exclusively on KissFM tomorrow (Friday, 22nd May).
